Best Day on The Water
We just had a great trip on the water with Maya’s Legacy again!
We’re addicted, to Capt. Jeff, Capt. Sarah and April. It was a magical day with the best of crews and guests alike. Everybody was so into the trip and looking for activity on the water we all mind as well be crew!
We headed out not knowing where we’d go. Unlike high-season trips, nobody else was on the water. It was cold, but not so bad. For having thought that the trip might be canceled when we woke up this morning, we actually faired quite well. Even the sun came out for a while.
We headed out north, couldn’t be going west today, I’m sure it would be way too rough. It was rough enough as it is, we actually had to sit inside the boat for once. We stopped first around Spieden, some eagles, and many goats were around. Not much else. No sea lions, but we did have a few seals.
We saw a few more eagles flying up high, about a dozen in one spot, and that was interesting.
We continued an excited ride up. Stopping by the small islands we saw the stellar sea lions and many many more eagles. The birds did not disappoint today and the sea lions made me eat my words “I have so many sea lion photos!” Well now I have more! How can anybody resist trying to get their personality into at least one square?
And shortly after we saw our humpbacks! They were all right there. It was about 9 of them in total. A lot of fluke activity, but no feeding, or breaching. Still seeing their spouts and being blessed with their presence in their vast ocean home is always ridiculously exciting.
Delicious donuts were served and another unforgettable trip was had with Capt Jeff, Capt Sarah and our always enthusiastic and sweet Naturalist April.
Looking forward to next season already!
